                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR
                   OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND THE
                   CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
                   RESPECTIVELY, AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
                   CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH WATT
                   & ESTES, INC., RELATIVE TO THE REPLACEMENT
                   OF BRIDGE #33-C891-080 ON OLD DAYTON PIKE
                   OVER NINE-MILE BRANCH FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST
                   OF FIVE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY AND
                   NO/100 DOLLARS ($5,460.00) FOR DESIGN AND
                   CONSTRUCTION, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO
                   EXCEED NINE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY
                   AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($9,420.00), WITHOUT
                   PRIOR APPROVAL.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Administrator of the Department
       of Public Works and the City Finance Officer be and are hereby
       authorized to execute and attest, respectively, Amendment No. 1 
to
       the Contract for Engineering Services with Watt & Estes, Inc.,
       relative to the replacement of Bridge #33-C891-080 on Old Dayton
       Pike over Nine-Mile Branch for an additional cost of $5,460.00 
for
       design and construction, for a total amount not to exceed
       $9,420.00, without prior approval.
